LISATS Covers Space Shuttle and Unmanned Launchs

As a public service, LISATS sets up their equipment at an advantageous spot along the Banana River in Brevard County, Florida to provide Nasa Video, Sound, and Commentary of Space Shuttle Launches for spectators on the spot. We set up on the north side of State Route 528

If coming from Orlando, drive out SR-528 (known as "The Beach Line Expressway") towards the Cruise Ship Terminals. Follow the Green Signs to the "B" docks, and take the exit for the "B" docks, allowing you to turn around (If you wish, travel another 1/2 mile and turn into the McDonalds to bring a "fast Food Picnic" to the site).

Once you are traveling Westbound on SR-528, once again go past the exit for the "A" docks, and just after you pass the sign that says "Airport 41 Miles, Orlando 52 Miles", you'll want to pull off the highway to the right, and park beside the bridge you almost went over.

LISATS endevours to provide "I Was There" Launch Certificates to our visitors who come to view the launch, requesting only a modest donation to the club in return.

approximate location
Lattitude:   28.4057045 N
Longitude:   -080.6400223 W
LISATS Point is located below one of the bridges over
the Bannana River near the State Route 401 exit of SR-528

LISATS Point is not an official geographic designation, but is used as a landmark in ham radio operations in communicating with Brevard County Emergency Management officials. An official, but informal "net" of hams in the area is called for each launch on 147.135 MHz (+600 KHz) as the eyes and ears of Brevard County, should an official emergency be declared.

146.940 MHz is the frequency in the 2 Meter ham radio band where LISATS transmits its launch information, and commentary.
